It's all happening so fast

Holy Crap. I get married to my best friend, the love of my life, the most amazing and perfect girl in the world in just a short 3 days. This coming Saturday we will be married at 2 PM in the Salt Lake Temple. I hope that all of you got an announcement, as long as you sent me your address you got one. I cannot describe how excited I am to be married. Just about all of my friends are married, and they love it. I even have friends that are having children in the next few months. Life is happening really fast, but I am LOVING IT.

Okay, so I currently am looking for a job, I have had a few leads, but nothing has panned out. I feel like an old 49er, in the fact that everyone says "Go here! They are hiring, and you'll fit the job perfectly!" or "Go There! I will put a good word in for you!" "You'll find Gold here! or There!"... but as I dip my pan, it just comes back with rocks and dirt. no gold just yet. but do not worry! I am still looking! I'll find gold, or a job sometime soon, and if the Mayans are right, I won't even have to worry about it, haha.

Me and Kelly are doing awesome, we have our house where we will be living, all set up and ready for her to get all moved in. I have already moved in, and we have moved most of her things over. I don't know how most people do it, but it seems to be working for us (having all my things, and most of her things here that is).

Justin is still out in Cheyenne Wyoming, doing really well, but he talks like he will be transferred in the next few weeks. Which sounds about right, I was transferred just about every 5-7 Months, and that is where he is at. His letters are amazing, and if you aren't getting them weekly then you should call my mother and get added to the email list.

Kelly had the opportunity to go through the Temple on the 16th, and she loved it! I loved it! There is something awesome to be said about going to the Temple together. I am grateful for this gospel, and for the Blessings that it provides in the Temple.

Okay, I feel like this makes sense, and also I feel like it is getting long. I know there is a TON of things that I am leaving out of this, but it covers the basics. I love you all, and want you to follow me on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and Google+, Oh and Tumblr if you know what that is. I will see you either Friday night, Saturday night, or on the 7th if you are down in Idaho. Be Good! Stay Sweet!

Engagement.

Okay okay okay. So everyone has been asking how I did this little engagement. Haha. Well it was a good process. It was kind of hard, since I live across the street from Kelly, to keep it a secret. Every girl wants a surprise and a good story to tell so I had to figure this out in the few hours a day I had to myself (I work with Kelly and we hang out daily). After thinking I decided that I needed to pop the question on temple square. It is where we had our first Utah date. And we dressed up On that date. So I wanted to recreate a similar night. Then I had to talk to her mother about it. Ask for permission as they say. Her mom is the best, she was very supportive and helped me keep it a secret. So then I just had to pick up the ring and set a day to ask her. The ring came back from the sizer on Tuesday. And I was able to pick it up on my way home from work without Kelly knowing I was even up to anything. Then it came to choosing a day. I figured Saturday was as good as any other day. And I didn't want to wait any longer. The ring was burning a hole in my pocket. Haha. So I brought it up casually throughout the week. Then Saturday morning came and we had to work early. We got there and it seemed that everything was going wrong. But I just kept talking about temple square and how I wanted to go there and be all dressed up. So after work we went home and got dressed up and went to temple square. It was perfect. The gates that usually surround the temple were open, and we could walk right up to the temple and touch it and go up to the doors. It was awesome. So we wandered through some of the visitors centers and looked at the art and the statues and even watched a video or two. Then we decided to go right up to the temple. So we walked in the Gate, and started to walk around it. There was a couple there taking pictures. She in her dress. Him in his tux. Very cute. Haha so we went around to the west side. And climbed the steps to the doors, and I knelt down on one knee and asked the age old question. "Will you marry me?"... Kelly is incredible. She said yes of course, and that is the story.

Be sure to follow along as we send out announcements, and tweets, and Facebook pages asking for your addresses and telling you what things are coming.

Thanks for reading my blog.
Love you.

It has been a while.

Hey,

So, it has been a while since I have made a blog post, and I apologize for leaving you hanging, but I am sure that you follow me on Facebook, or Twitter, or Instagram, or even Tumblr, you haven't missed much. Other than the fact that I MOVED to Salt Lake City, Utah to be closer to Kelly, and to work and make money. I am enjoying myself. I work at Tagge's Famous Fruit (http://www.taggesfamousfruit.com) it is a farm, and they have some stands all over the Valley, and also do the Farmers Markets that are here also. I usually work at the Nest, which is the warehouse. anyway, I love it, and it is a lot of fun. haha.

what else is there? I live across the street from Kelly and her family. They are awesome. haha they have 3 cows and a bunch of chickens. So its fresh milk and eggs all around! It is really nice actually to have around. Although living on a farm is a lot of work, its nice to have fresh food. Speaking of food, I have eaten a lot of great food here, haha sounds like a mission report. but I have. It is interesting to me how different people live and grow up and what they eat. but it has been an awesome learning experience. Kelly's Mom can't eat Gluten, so I have eaten a lot of Gluten Free Meals, and I now know why that is such a big deal. haha, it is hard to cook and be gluten free.

Anyway, things have been going well. I have been doing great. I know this isnt very organized, but it has been long overdue. so I will be back on this blog more frequently in the next few months. things are changing like crazy! haha so be sure to watch and find out as this year winds to an end!

One Love!

Justin's Big Send off!

Hey,
so this past week we sent Justin off on his Mission to The Colorado Denver North Mission. But we had to take him to the MTC first. and so this video is all about that!

I Hope that you guys Enjoyed it! he will make an amazing Missionary. Im proud to call him my brother.
If you wanna write him, the address is on the video description on YouTube, and while he is in the MTC you can Dear Elder him. just go to www.DearElder.com and make sure you put all the Mission info in correctly, and he will get it really quickly.

So, this whole week has been pretty good. Sunday Justin gave his Farewell Speech in church. And afterwards we had a Nacho Bar at the Town Hall in Menan. it was a really good time. lots of good food, and lots of family and friends came out to support! So if that is you, Thank You!
(you can listen to his speech here http://soundcloud.com/josh-e-franz/justins-farewell-address )

Monday Justin was set apart as a Missionary, and Riley and Layton were in town so they got to join us as we went to the Stake Center to meet with President Cook. that was a really awesome experience to stand in and be a part of setting Justin apart as a Full Time Missionary for the Church.,

Tuesday we left for Utah at about 2, on the way out, we stopped at the airport to see Travis come home from his mission! the first and only time in 4 years that Justin and Travis will see each other. that was pretty crazy to think about. They were both set apart missionaries, and one is leaving and the other coming home. That night we ate at some good ole Litza's Pizza, and I went and visited with Kelly.

Wednesday morning, Me and Justin woke up early and headed to the SLC Temple to do a session. it was really cool! the spirit was really strong, and I loved going to the temple with my brother. He is an incredible guy! As soon as we got out of the Temple we headed to the Church Office Building to see Grandma and Grandpa Hix, and where they are at serving their mission. They really LOVE what they do! and you can feel it when you talk to them. They are SO Happy there. We took the tour with them, and went over to the Joseph Smith Building for a Cinnamon roll! after we got back to G-pa & G-ma Franz' house I changed clothes and then Headed out! and that's where that video comes from ^^
After dropping him off we went back to Temple Square, and I got to hang out with Kelly for a little bit longer before we had to leave to come back to Idaho.

The rest of the week has been spent waiting for Justin to shoot us a letter or an Email, and today we finally got one from him. he said his P-Day is on Wednesday in the MTC, and that he will write us all back then. so be sure that you sit down and take a Minute to write him and let him know how you are doing, he would Love to hear from all of you!
Have a Great Week!

Elder Justin G. Franz

So as you know I returned in December from my mission to the Iowa Des Moines Mission. And since then have found the greatest girlfriend, have started college and made some good friends. All while helping my brother Justin prepare for his mission. He is a really awesome guy. I'm really grateful that I can call him my brother. He is a spiritual giant! Yesterday was his faretheewell speech, and he did great on it. Blew any talk I have ever given clean out of the water!! He's really going to make a great missionary. Justin, if you don't know, has been called to the Colorado Denver North Mission. And he leaves in just 2 days (wednesday June 13th). I wanted to write this post and just tell Justin how much I appreciate what he does and how he is. He is a great kid. And a great big brother! Thanks for being a great example to the rest of the family man. You'll be twice the missionary I was! Thanks again my brother!

If you would like to write Justin, here is his info.

Zero time.

One thing I have learned during this semester of college, is that I have no time for anything. And I waste a lot of the time I don't have on things I don't need to do. Agh. I am trying to buckle down and do a lot better. It's just so crazy and busy. There are things that I still need to do everyday. And for next semester I'm getting a planner.
Haha.

College.

Holy Cow... This Blog is Long overdue... and I apologize for that. Things here have been crazy!

So I moved into my new apartment. I met my Roommates. I started College. I work everyday. haha so we will start with moving into my apartment.

Got here, and I talked to the manager, got my key and what not. I came down and checked out the apartment. Nice little place. Supposed to be 6 people living here, which seemed like a lot. But I thought to myself, "it cant be that bad." And, its NOT! haha. so at first, it was just me and Tanner. and I was thinking that we had 4 lame ducks that were coming late... turns out there are only 3 of us in this place! so that's Half what we would normally have! pretty awesome if you ask me. Carlton showed up Tuesday mid-day. Pretty good guys! I like em both! and they both know how to put up with my shenanigans! haha.

So, School itself isn't too bad. It's a lot different than I originally thought it was going to be. A lot of the teachers here don't want you using laptops or iPad's in their class? and they really don't want phones in their classes. I understand the phones one... but the Laptops and iPad's? I don't get it. I figured because we are paying to be there (versus high school where everyone just goes to it) then they wouldn't care so much? But they do... oh well I'm really not worried about it. I like my classes, I am only taking Fundamental Classes. but I really enjoy going to them and I actually like the teachers I have. My English class is a little intense. but its a block class so it will be over in no time. (June 1st). It seems that I have Homework every day, which is good! haha. It keeps me busy.

Also, I work at Rays still! It's pretty crazy. I go to school all day, then go to work the rest of the night, then I have homework to do after I get home... Right now it's working out pretty well, but that is because last week it was raining and they called me and told me not to come in every day. I wrote them a note and asked that, in May, my schedule not be so "everyday". I haven't been getting to bed at a normal time because I have been up doing the reading assignments. haha Every class makes you read! and I don't retain the reading because its so late. haha. oh well. I'm getting used to this stuff!

All in all, I know that I have bored you today, I'm sorry for that. I'll work on it! I promise. I just felt like I needed to get this First "College" Blog post up before I was too far into college!

Stay Sweet!
Peace Late!

PS! Kelly is coming in May! And she is Bringing Karen! So that is going to be awesome! =D

Justin's Mission Call!

Hey Hey Hey!

Okay, so Yesterday I went to the post office, and opened the mail box up to see a HUGE WHITE envelope addressed from the Prophet, to Elder Justin Grant Franz. I promptly sent him a few photos, and things were arranged to have a little "Mission Call Opening" get together at 7 PM. Right around 7 PM all the family showed up! Grandma Hix was even in town! it was awesome to see Justin open his call and see that he has been called to the.... Watch the Video and find out!

Colorado Denver North Mission! Man, I am excited for this kid! And he leaves soon too! I don't think we have much to get done for him, as far as preparation goes. I mean he has a suit and I have a million ties that he can take with him... haha he really just needs Shirts and shoes and socks and he will be outa here!

Hey Justin, I am proud of you man. Keep up the good work! Your Mission will be a life changing experience that you will learn and grow from. It will be something that you think about every day for the rest of your life. Ask anyone who has gone on one and they will tell you that! Love you Brother!

Tout The Video Instagram.

HEY!

So, I write this blog as a review for things that I like/don't like/want people to try... and today I want to talk about something that I really am starting to like, and comparing with something that I already enjoy/love.

I will begin with the thing that I love already, and that is Instagram. its an app for your phone (Yes, even YOU, with that weird Droid can now have it... as of last week that is!). Instagram is an app that you use to take pictures and share them with your friends. You can post them to Twitter ( https://twitter.com/#!/joshfranz , as you see here I have posted a few good pictures [and Tout vids as well] to Twitter using Instagram) and also Facebook, Tumblr, Email, and a few other social networks. You can follow people, be it friends, relatives, famous people, or your Mom, you follow them and see what they post and you can like and comment on it. On Instagram there are ways to edit your pictures with different filters and things to the photos to edit them and make them more presentable/cooler? anyway, what I'm trying to get at, is that its an enjoyable way to share photos.... Well, now there is a way to share not only photos with your friends and loved ones, but you can share videos with them as well. By downloading the app Tout. it is actually a LOT like instagram. It has a very similar interface, and its roughly the same as far as following friends and other people.

What I like about it:
1-Videos are limited to 15 seconds long, so there is NO Rambling on and on and saying Um... What?... Uh... Blah blah blah... its to the point, and if you don't get to the point in 15 seconds... try again.
2-It is easy to load things to Facebook and Twitter (since those are what I use for it)
3-Unlike Instagram, you can use Tout online at WWW.TOUT.COM . so if you have a computer with a webcam, then you can use it online without even having a smart phone.

What I dislike about it:
1-No one uses it that I know... haha! So you should start using it, you don't have to be a YouTube Sensation to use it and to be able to talk to a camera... just be yourself.
2-The Videos are Limited to 15 seconds. Now I know that in the Like Section above, I said that I like this... but all too often, I will be recording something and a word will get cut off... 20 seconds is all I'm asking for.

I suggest that you get yourself out there to the App Store on your Local iTunes, or get on that good ole Google store for Droids, and get Tout so that you can start to tell us of your life and your likings.

That is all that I have to say for tonight. haha..

The Hunger Games! - The Movie.

Okay okay okay... so as you read in my last post. While I was in Utah last week I had the opportunity to go to The Hunger Games movie. I think that Enough time has now passed that I can give a reasonable review to it.

This MIGHT spoil this movie for you if you have not seen it.

The Hunger Games. A movie based on a novel written by Suzanne Collins. - Having read the book first, I must follow the cliche and say that the book was MUCH Better. Haha. In the movie, they followed the book very very closely. Which I appreciate, because it took me a few days to read the book and if they had gone way off the beaten path, then I would feel as though I wasted my time. Like all Movies that are based on Books, you have it pictured up in your head different then the director, or the make up people, or the author themselves. and so that is always a little annoying. but I feel as though they did a really great job using the book for a good reference as for how things looked and what not. On occasion I felt as though I was watching people in their mid-20's and not people that are 12-18 (speaking of the Tributes of course) but that is roughly what most of the actor are, is in their 20's. so I guess that is to be expected... I thought the Reaping was a little weird, as all the kids are walking out (in District 12) it seemed to me to be like footage from World War II in Germany of Jewish Children being marched somewhere.... On to the actual Games! I loved the Games, the Capitol, the Training, everything was as I imagined it(or close to it). I feel as though they did a great job at showing the killing in the games without using too much blood or gore or anything of that matter. But, in the end of the movie, I was very weird-ed out about the Wolves? To me, they looked like Smashed Faced dogs. Although they were scary and that is how they are portrayed in the book, but I pictured more of a Wolf than they were. All in All, I Loved this movie. I will be getting it on DVD when it comes out.

If you haven't seen this movie. Go, Now and watch it. That is all.

PS. Sneaky way to Kill Seneca Crane eh?!

UTAH!!

This last weekend was really awesome! I had the chance of heading down to Utah to visit Kelly, Go to General Conference, Go to a Mission Reunion, and spend time with my Franz Family.

So I started the trip on Thursday in the morning, by Picking up one of my old Companions, Ole Raleigh Wayland out in Ririe. The next leg of our journey took us to my Aunt Cindy's house to shoot up some birds... but that didn't happen. I mean that we went out there and the birds had Flown the Coop! so we just chatted with her for a bit, then headed to Julie's house to get Tanner. Then the real Fun started! we turned on some Music and headed for the Border. The whole way there me and Raleigh talked about mission stuff and different people, while Tanner listened to his iPod. It only took us a few hours to get to Utah, and it was a really easy drive. once I dropped them off at the places they were going, I headed to the U of U to pick up Kelly! And the Rest of Thursday was spent hanging out with her and her Family. We went to a Cemetery, and took pictures(not of graves or anything, on the one end, there is kind of a park area that is really cool with statues and things). and shortly after that we all headed to the MOVIES to see The Hunger Games. Which BTW is an incredible flick! You must go and see it if you haven't already. They do a really good job at sticking to the Book. I really enjoyed the creativity of the Movie makers in this movie. The Book had a lot of things that were, I'm Sure, hard to do; but they do a great job at it all.

Friday I got up and went and picked Kelly up at the U of U again, and we headed to the 7-11 for some Slurpee's! SOO dang good! I wish there were 7-11's here in Idaho... then we went to Grandpa and Grandma Franz' place and relaxed for a bit, and eventually headed back to Kelly's house to spend time with her and her family. That night I went to my Mission Reunion in Sandy at about 6:30... and I saw a lot of AWESOME people there. People that I hadn't seen for a long time. Archi, Jergy, Jameson, Pres & Sis Talbot, Blackett, and too many others to sit and name them all! It was Really great to see them and to talk to them and find out what everyone is up to now! After the reunion, I went back to Kelly's house and was sitting and talking to her, when her Uncle showed up, and he started asking me all kinds of things about my mission and what not. I really enjoyed that. I feel like it is hard to just talk about a mission without questions about certain things. and he was really good at asking things, and it really made me miss my Mission. Those were 2 Life Changing years that's for sure.

Saturday was the BIG day, half the reason I wanted to go to Utah on this weekend! GENERAL CONFERENCE! so I got up early, and had Kelly come out to my Grandparents house, well on the way there she got pulled over. haha! but luckily for her she only got a warning... haha its still funny to me that she got pulled over. Anyway, we headed to GC. it was amazing! We were able to park underneath in the Parking Garage, which I would recommend to anyone (just need to ask your bishop or stake pres for a parking pass when you ask for tickets). Conference was really good. I felt like I got a lot from it. I think my favorite talk was Quentin L. Cook's talk from the Saturday Afternoon Session. While we where there at the Conference, Brittna text me asking where I was, and so we met up with her and James afterwards. haha it was a good time seeing them, and talking to them and getting caught up on life. so then I went and watched the rest of the Saturday sessions with Kelly's family and had dinner with them (which PS was Fish, and Normally I don't like Fish, but Karen did a REALLY good job at cooking it!). Grandpa, Eric and I all loaded up in the Van and headed to the priesthood session too! Afterwards we all had Ice Cream and Brownies and just talked and relaxed.

Sunday Morning, I went and Picked up Kelly and we Jetted out to Uncle Buck's place to watch the First Sunday session with Him and Monica and the Girls. They have a Really nice place, I had never been there before. It was good to see Uncle Buck and the rest of em! When we left his house, It was SNOWING!! it had been nice all week, and then had decided to snow! AHH! haha. it was okay though, because as we drove up the canyon back to Grandma Franz' house it was only raining. haha. so we watched the second session with them, and midway through the Bettolos showed up! it was great to see those guys! and Grandpa cooked up some Enchiladas for us! it was a really great time. then somehow I got sucked into watching Jurassic Park! haha I ended up Leaving for home at about 7-730. I made it home by 11!!

All in All, it was a great trip! I really enjoyed it! Spending time with Friends and Family was great! and Hanging out with Kelly was THE BEST! as it always is!

I hope you didn't get too bored reading this post! I Love You All! Have a great week!
Now its back to work! haha and then I need to get things finalized for school! like my apartment, and my TB test? haha idk... My mom knows what all I need to do. That lady is Organized! and I'm grateful!

Fun. The Band, & The Weekend.

Fun. Is an interesting name for this band. It describes their lyrics. Their attitude. it describes all in all how you feel when you listen to it. Over the past few weeks I have acquired 2 of their albums. Some Nights. And
, Aim and Ignite. Both are really really great and easy listening.  The song, We Are Young, is really popular right now. It is on the Radio and it is Currently(as of 28-March-2012) #2 on the iTunes top 10 list... Second only to Justin Bieber's HIT Single, Boyfriend. I personally think it stomps J-Bieb's song into the ground... but who am I to say? Anyway I would recommend going out and getting the "Fun." Albums they are really good. Some Nights is a New Release (Feb. 21 2012) but Aim and Ignite has been out for almost 2 years. Go, Pick them up. Give em a Listen...

Fun NOT only describes the great band that bears its name, it also describes the good times and the weekend that is in store for this guy! I'm headed down to Utah to spend some time with Kelly, go to a Mission Reunion, and attend/watch General Conference. This weekend is going to be awesome! I am really looking forward to seeing Kelly and her family. they are AWESOME! I really like them. And a Mission Reunion, what could go wrong there? I only need to bake a Dozen Cookies... haha. also, on the way down there, I will be Riding with WayDoggy, and Tanner... so it should be a good ride... I will try to do some Blogs from Utah and from the road trip there.

Have a great week!

Hunger Games!!

Hey So the Hunger Games is coming out soon... the Books have been out for a while, and if you havent read them, then you need to step your game up and read read read them! Really good books. A little Violent, but its not about the Violence, its about what happens when you allow Government to get TOO in control of Everything. Anyway, I just got the Soundtrack that came out today. It is pretty good, I heard one review telling me that it was a little Country and that I would like it. I agree that it has a SLIGHT country feel, I mean Taylor Swift has 2 songs on it, so it has to have that feel to it. It is a good CD though, I would suggest going out and getting yourself a copy, or going to iTunes and getting it. Also right now on the iTunes Ringtone Store, the Hunger Games Ringtone is FREE. so pick one up for your iPhone. its just the 4-tone whistle that Rue does...(Oh if you dont know what that is, like I said STEP YOUR GAME UP!) good tone though. anyway Im excited to see the Movie. I dont think Ill be going to the midnight release, unless someone gives me a ticket. Ill see it the next weekend when Im in Salt Lake City for Conference weekend... Well thats it for Today, I hope you enjoyed.

Breakfast of Champions

I got up this morning and decided that I needed to have a real breakfast! So I got up and went and made this. Tell me what you think!

Also, lately I've been listening to the album Some Nights by the band Fun. It's a really well put together album. Nat showed it to me the other day and then I realized that I had heard one song from it ALL OVER THE PLACE!! The song We Are Young. It's been on a lot of things. I've even noticed that people have Screenshots of it to Instagram and Facebook. (of them listening to it on their iPods...) and it was on a few apple commercials.

It is an album that I highly recommend. Check it out. Buy it. Get it. Get the ringtone. Everything. It's that good.

Squiggley Banana St. Patty's day!

Hey Everyone! so here is a little video me and Savana made while we made dinner! On Friday Night me and Riley Hix went to Walmart and got all the toppings for this thing. like the Rye Bread, the Corned Beef, the 1000 Island Dressing, the Sauerkraut, and the Swiss Cheese, so that Saturday the 17th we could just start cooking and not have to worry about getting the food items. as you can see from the video we had a good time Making them. and after we sat down as a family and ate them, we couldn't stop talking about how good they were. haha. we will have to do this again sometime soon! and this is Definitely going to be at the Squiggley Banana!

New to Blogging, But not new to Rambling.

Hey! Today is Saturday March 3rd 2012. so I thought that I would start a Blog... Im going to be talking about myself and reviewing Music and Movies and the like (all this is in the "About Me" box)... but yeah... So Ive been home for just over 2 Months, and in that time I have had a lot of things happen. I've gotten a iPhone. I've gotten a Job. I've gotten a Girlfriend, Her name is Kelly btw and she is Awesome! I've been to Utah. I've read the entire Hunger Games Series. I've learned a few new tricks with the Rubik's Cube. I've Listened to A LOT of Music. I've watched only a small handful of movies. I've Re-Taken the ACT and scored an 18. I've been Accepted to BYU-I. And I've done a lot of other things, most of them insignificant... so this past week, I had to work everyday. I work at Rays Chevron ( http://rayschevron.com/ ) as a Car Washer and Car Detailer. It's an alright job. Nothing HUGE though. Nothing I wanna do FOREVER. so like I said, I've just been working and earning some Money, so that Next weekend when Kelly comes up for a visit I can have some cash! The High School Boys Basketball team have been playing a lot of good basketball this season. And this year they made it to State as the Top Seed from the district. I've had the opportunity to go to a few games and watch them play. It's actually fun, because my cousin is on the team. Right now they are in Boise for the State Tournament. they have won their first 2 games, and tonight they play Madison (their Rivals) for the State Title. It's going to be an Emotional game for them. I might get to watch it. I dont know for sure because I have to work from 2 - 8PM, and the game starts at 6PM so I doubt that I will be able to watch it online. Anyway. I'm going to go make some breakfast and try out the Mobile Blogger App and see how it works with this thing. I'll talk to you later!
Peace Late!
